Autumn Festival at the Wesserling Park Gardens

Sunday 18 October 2026, from 11.00 am to 5.30 pm

A family day out amidst the colours of autumn in Alsace

Fancy a family day out in the Haut-Rhin during the autumn half-term holidays? Wesserling Park invites you to celebrate the season with a day of festivities in the heart of its gardens.
On Sunday 18 October, the Wesserling Gardens will be decked out in their autumnal colours and will welcome young and old alike for a day dedicated to nature, creativity and fun.
Workshops, a vegetable market, pumpkins to carve, horse-drawn carriage rides, music, theatre and tasty treats will set the tone for this autumn day in Alsace.
A special treat for children: entry is free for children dressed up in autumn-themed costumes! Pumpkins, leaves, scarecrows… let your imagination run wild.

Autumn activities for the whole family

🥕 Vegetable market and raffle – all day
Outside the Restaurant du Potager, you’ll find the vegetable market and the raffle organised by the Potagers association.
For €2, have a go at guessing the weight of a wheelbarrow full of vegetables as accurately as possible. The closest guess might just win you the contents of the wheelbarrow!

🌿 Rope-making and eco-gardening workshop – from 10am to 5pm
The eco-gardeners from the Na’Thur-Doller association will help you discover the garden’s hidden treasures.
On the programme: a workshop on making rope from plant fibres found in gardens, and games to raise awareness of natural gardening, for children and adults alike.

🎃 Pumpkin carving – from 1.30 pm to 5 pm
This is one of the unmissable events at this autumn festival in Wesserling Park!
With the help of activity leaders, children can hollow out and carve their pumpkins to create a face, a design or a decoration in autumnal colours.
You can bring your own hollowed-out pumpkin or buy one on the spot: €3 for a small one and €5 for a large one, subject to availability.

🎭 At 2.30 pm, 3.30 pm and 4.30 pm – Le Contre-chant des Primeurs
At a market, Inès and Alphonsine sell fertiliser, weedkillers and other miracle products supposedly guaranteed to produce perfect harvests. But their day is about to take a turn that’s… vegetable-themed, to say the least!
Now all it takes is for Alphonsine to ‘play the leek’, ‘drop in a heap’, have ‘a weight on her mind’ or ‘mind her own business’ for fruit and vegetables to spring up, flesh and leaves and all!
With its puns, unlikely appearances and audience interaction, *Le Contre-chant des Primeurs* is a burlesque and eco-friendly sketch that takes a light-hearted look at our relationship with the land and the environment. A short, family-friendly show brimming with fantasy, where vegetables finally have their say… and they haven’t come just to make up the numbers!

🎺 At 3.00 pm – Concert by the Lutterbach Wind Band
Around thirty musicians from the Lutterbach Wind Band will take to the château’s terrace for a one-hour concert. A musical interlude to be savoured in the heart of the Gardens.

🐴 From 2 pm to 5 pm – Horse-drawn carriage ride to the farm
Climb aboard Émile Marcepoil’s carriage and set off to explore Wesserling Rural Park at the horses’ pace
And to warm up…
Food available on site from 11.00 am, including a vegetable soup bar and pumpkin gazpacho.
