Reopening of the Wesserling park
Publié le 29 avril 2021
Tick-tock… The park opens its doors again soon!
The culture world is paralyzed, but in Wesserling, time has not stood still. For weeks now, we’ve been working hard to bring you the most beautiful reopening. This year, the universe of Egypt is coming to the park. On the program: pyramids, palm trees, Egyptian tomb, treasures, labyrinth… etc. we have thought of everything!
What’s going on in the Park Gardens?
In the common garden, everything is jostled. Little by little, the five plots are transformed into a real Egyptian landscape. The change of scene meets expectations to both young and old alike! You will be able to navigate in this large space flooded with nature, between vegetable gardens, works on display and a path lined with Egyptian photos.

What about the Textile Museum?
On the Museum side, the different rooms are taking shape and new works are gradually being installed. You will discover new works around the natural fiber of hemp, carried out by students from HEAR (Haute École des Arts du Rhin) and ESAD, or those of Aurélien Finance who diverts the textile world by deconstructing traditional codes. Aurélien Finance practices so-called “popular” skills, such as knitting, crochet, or embroidery to experiment with their limits in a playful approach tinged with humor and poetry. In the installation “Absence de soit”, the artist imagined a space made up of kinds of vine made of DMC cotton thread , both sensual and disturbing, which he names the Rembourasses. They form a colorful artificial forest, as if it were taken out of a fairy tale.

The “Grande Chaufferie” is also on the move!
Finally, the Grande Chaufferie (former thermal power plant) holds incredible surprises in store for you. It turns into a huge Egyptian tomb guarded by its metal statues. A treasure room awaits you there but, to get there, you will have to successfully cross the labyrinth that protects it.

Does all this make you dream? Come and visit us from June 6, 2021 at Wesserling Park!
We can’t wait to see you!
